We’re excited to bring you Saturday’s Cups, a bold and eye-catching art installation made entirely from the single-use cups Splash Café used to go through on a typical Saturday before going SUC-free.
This striking piece is designed to spark conversations about how much waste can come from “just one cup,” and how easily we can shift the story by choosing reusables.

Visit anytime during the week and enter our competition by guessing how many cups make up the installation. The closest guess wins a three-month pool membership at the Events Centre.

Created by Kate Gislason of Without Waste, Saturday’s Cups transforms real waste data into visual storytelling. Her work blends creativity with the reality of our single-use habits and encourages practical, measurable change.

Even with compostable options available, thousands of single-use cups are thrown out in Queenstown every day. This installation brings that reality into full view and encourages locals and visitors to support SUCfree cafés and carry reusable cups with pride.
